WHY WE DELAYED TEN DAYS

I was supposed to send the first wave of alpha invitations ten days ago.

I did not.

During pre-launch testing, we caught a scenario where the Decision Engine misattributed a third-party incident to the user themselves — potentially framing the user as a culpable actor in a situation they had only described, from the outside, as a witness. The test case was a user asking Wolf You Feed how to respond to witnessing a neighbor abuse a child. In early form, the engine blended the user and the neighbor in the way it rendered the Decision. The user was placed inside a situation they had only observed.

That is not a nuance issue. It is the kind of error that ends trust on day one. It is also the kind of error any architecture that makes consequential recommendations for consequential situations has an absolute obligation to detect and resolve before it ever reaches a real person.

We stopped, and we fixed it properly, before anyone saw it in the wild.

While we were in there, we shipped four other capabilities the alpha cohort will need on day one:

  • Live account-balance display for connected financial accounts, so Decisions in the Wealth domain reason about your actual cash position rather than what you happened to type in last week.
  • Fully isolated conversation histories between Family Mode and Tactical Mode, so the two contexts cannot bleed into each other in unintended ways.
  • Timezone-aware Decision framing, so the engine reasons about your local calendar — your morning, your weekend, your overnight watch — rather than server time.
  • A complete suite of granular data controls in Settings — what you keep, what you delete, what is used for what, on your terms.

None of that work was optional for a product that handles sensitive context and makes recommendations people will act on. The ten days were worth it.

For the people who have been waiting: I would rather you wait for the right product than receive the wrong one. The invitations go out this week.
